VinFast Local Assembly

VinFast has now decided that it will be locally assembling its electric vehicles in India. This will be done at the company’s manufacturing facility in Tamil Nadu. It is anticipated that the plant will become operational by the first half of 2025. As per the company, its assembly plant in Tamil Nadu is crucial to its new plans to enter the Indian automotive market.

The automaker has been designing its plant to streamline production so that it can meet the increasing demand for electric vehicles in the country. Presently, the company has opted for the Completely Knocked Down (CKD) route.

VinFast, with this new approach for the Indian car market, is aiming to leverage cost efficiencies and bypass high import duties. With this, it will be able to position its offerings more competitively in the Indian market.
