Vinfast's 3rd Big Tie-Up Announced As Vietnamese Electric Car Brand Gets Ready For India Entry

The Vietnamese electric vehicle manufacturing giant VinFast’s Indian subsidiary, VinFast Auto India, is partnering up with major Indian companies to make sure that it has a very successful entry into the country. Recently, VinFast Auto India announced that it has partnered with BatX Energies for battery recycling. Apart from BatX Energies, VinFast recently also announced its partnerships with RoadGrid and Global Assure as well.

VinFast and BatX Energies

The most recent announcement of the partnership between VinFast Auto India and BatX Energies was made today. For those who may not be aware, BatX Energies is an Indian clean-tech firm that specializes in battery recycling, rare metal recovery, and end-of-life battery repurposing. With this partnership, both companies aim to develop sustainable, circular battery recycling and raw material recovery.

As per the announcement, BatX Energies will handle high-voltage battery recycling and raw material recovery for VinFast’s Thoothukudi manufacturing plant. It will also provide its services for pan-India after-sales operations. BatX’s core technologies and services help in the extraction of lithium, cobalt, and nickel.

Commenting on the announcement, Pham Sanh Chau, CEO of VinFast Asia, stated, “This partnership with BatX Energies is a meaningful step toward building a sustainable, circular battery ecosystem in India. At VinFast, sustainability goes beyond vehicles—it’s about environmental responsibility across the entire lifecycle. By working with BatX, we aim to reduce resource dependency, support national priorities, and set a new benchmark for responsible innovation in electric mobility.”

Meanwhile, Utkarsh Singh, CEO of BatX Energies, said, “Our partnership with VinFast reflects a shared belief in responsible innovation and resource circularity to strengthen the EV battery value chain. By enabling sustainable end-of-life solutions for EV batteries, we are building infrastructure that can grow with the industry and create lasting environmental impact.”

On July 8 this month, VinFast Auto India also announced that it has joined hands with RoadGrid for building a nationwide service and charging network. RoadGrid is one of the top Indian companies that offers smart EV charging solutions and integrated after-sales infrastructure.

Under this partnership, RoadGrid and VinFast will partner with regional players to set up extended service workshops. They will deliver real-time charging, diagnostics, driver service, and digital service integration. These services will reduce range and service availability anxiety of future VinFast owners.

Prior to RoadGrid, VinFast Auto India, on June 17, announced its partnership with Global Assure. It is one of the country's most recognised customer support and mobile service companies. It will be providing a comprehensive customer support framework to VinFast’s future EV customers.

Under this partnership, Global Assure will offer a 24x7 customer call center and nationwide roadside assistance for VinFast EV buyers for breakdowns and battery issues. It will also arrange on-demand EV charging services for stranded vehicles and mobile service operations in which specially equipped vans will offer on-site minor repairs and diagnostics.
