Preparing for the festive season, Volkswagen India has announced attractive discounts and benefits on its entire portfolio. The Taigun, Virtus and Tiguan all benefit from these. The manufacturer had reduced prices of select variants earlier this year, and the new discounts apply to the already reduced prices- delivering more value to the buyers and giving these vehicles better propositions. Let’s discuss VW’s October discounts in more detail:

volkswagen taigun

Up To 1.5 Lakh Off On The Taigun

The Volkswagen Taigun is being offered with two distinct powertrains- 1.0 TSI and 1.5 TSI. The 1.0L version offers combined savings of up to 1.5 lakh for the festive season. These include cash discounts, exchange offers, and a loyalty bonus. The more powerful Taigun 1.5 offers benefits of up to Rs 50,000. These are the MY24 models. However, if you choose to opt for an unsold MY 23 model, you will be able to save an additional Rs 50,000. The 2 airbag variants will offer Rs 40,000 in discounts.

VW Virtus Discounts: Up To 1.0 Lakh

The Virtus is underpinned by the same platform as the Taigun and shares its powertrains. It thus comes in 1.0 and 1.5 iterations. The Virtus 1.0 offers benefits of up to 1 lakh this Diwali. This includes a cash discount of Rs 50,000, an exchange bonus of Rs 30,000, and another Rs 20,000 in loyalty bonus.

The 1.5 variants stand much lower in offering benefits. Combined savings on these amount to Rs 50,000. Unsold MY23 Virtus will yield you an additional 50,000 in savings, while the dual airbags version will get you an extra 40,000 off- just like the Taigun.

Save Up To 1.75 Lakh On The Tiguan

Volkswagen’s current flagship Tiguan gets a massive cut this Diwali. Up to 1.75 lakh can be saved on the SUV. This includes a cash discount of 1 lakh and an exchange bonus of Rs 75,000. Unsold MY23 units will offer additional cash discounts of Rs 75,000, another Rs 75,000 in exchange bonus and a complimentary 4-year Service Value Package (SVP) worth Rs 90,000. Corporate benefits of Rs 50 000 can also be availed.

Volkswagen’s India Portfolio

At present, Volkswagen’s Indian portfolio consists of the Taigun, Virtus and the Tiguan. The first and second are both products of the India 2.0 program. Both the Virtus and Taigun are doing well in sales. In a recent rejig, VW implemented clear differentiation among these into two personae- the Chrome and the Sport. There are a lot of variants to choose from in each of these.

The Tiguan comes via CBU, and has an ex-showroom price of 35. 16 lakh. It is powered by a 2.0L TSI petrol engine that comes with a 7-speed DSG gearbox. The powertrain generated 190 PS and 320 Nm. The SUV gets a comfortable and luxurious cabin, packed with features and tech.

Future Road Map

volkswagen id4

The official website lists the ID.4, hinting at a possible launch in the not-so-distant future. It will also consider bringing more global models to our shores. VW has recently been actively expanding its retailer and touchpoint network in the country, alongside launching new variants to existing models and bridging price gaps.

Skoda is getting ready to launch a new SUV- the Kylaq here. Even though no report confirms it, Volkswagen could consider making their version of the Brezza rival, which will also be underpinned by the MQB A0 IN platform and likely powered by the same 1.0 TSI engine.

VW is also known to be exploring the possibility of launching hybrid cars in India. Mahindra is heard to be in talks with the German giant, and if things end well, the two will share their technology and vehicle platforms. In that case, VW will be able to position its EVs and hybrids more competitively here.
