Upcoming Volkswagen Tayron SUV Spied Undisguised In India For The First Time [Video]

Volkswagen has announced that they will be bringing new ICE vehicles to the Indian market in the coming years. They were forced to make a decision like this due to various reasons. We will be getting a brand-new sub-4-meter SUV based on the Skoda Kushaq in the Indian market. It is said to be different from the Teramont, which Volkswagen has showcased internationally. Apart from this, Volkswagen also aims to launch a 7-seater SUV, and the upcoming SUV Volkswagen Tayron has been spotted on Indian roads for the first time.
The videos and images of the SUV have been shared by a user, Vitamin Protein, on his X profile. In the post, we see two brand-new Volkswagen Tayron SUVs being tested on Indian roads. The SUVs were spotted alongside the new Skoda Kodiaq SUV. The SUV does not have any camouflage, and both are finished in a silver shade.
The Tayron badge on the tailgate is clearly visible in the post. The post only shows the upcoming SUV from the rear. The exterior design of the SUV looks similar to other Volkswagen SUVs on sale. It is based on the current-generation Tiguan, and the design is inspired by that SUV. It looks similar to the Tiguan R-Line, which was launched in the market recently. From the images available online, it is clear that the SUV will come with sleek-looking headlamps that become a part of the front grille.
The SUV is definitely longer than the regular Tiguan, as this is a three-row SUV. It will compete with the likes of the Jeep Meridian, Citroën C5 Aircross, and the recently launched Skoda Kodiaq.
From the leaked images, we can see the clear lens LED tail lamps of the Tayron, which come with a connecting LED bar running across the width of the vehicle. The rear bumper has a honeycomb mesh design finished in piano black. The skid plate of the SUV is finished in black. The design of the alloy wheels looks similar to what we have seen in the recently launched Tiguan R-Line.
We also get a glimpse of the front of the SUV in the video, and it looks butch with the large air dam on the bumper, mesh design, and faux skid plates.
Coming to the interiors, the design is expected to be the same as the regular Tiguan. Volkswagen might make a few changes to the cabin to give it a fresh look. The Tayron will come with a large 10.25-inch fully digital instrument cluster and a 12.9-inch touchscreen infotainment system. The SUV is also expected to get a 15-inch HUD as an optional extra.
As with any other car in the segment, Volkswagen will offer features like Level 2 ADAS, including Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Keep Assist, Autonomous Emergency Braking, and so on.
The Volkswagen Tayron is expected to be offered with a 2.0-litre petrol engine. This engine is expected to generate 204 PS. The engine will be mated to a 7-speed DSG and is expected to get the AWD feature too. Volkswagen is expected to launch the Tayron by the end of 2025, and it will be sold as a CKD. This means it would be expensive but not as expensive as a CBU.
