Transmission options for this variant will include a 6-speed manual gearbox and a 6-speed torque converter automatic. As for the other engine option, Volkswagen, at the time of the launch or a few months after the official launch, will offer the Tera with its more powerful 1.5-litre four-cylinder TSI EVO turbo petrol engine. Apart from the engine options, the upcoming Volkswagen Tera for India will be shortened in length. For those who may not be aware, the Tera launched in Brazil is longer than four meters. However, if the company brings it to India without making it an under-4m sub-compact SUV, it will be subjected to higher tax rates.

Apart from these, the Tera, in terms of design, will look the same as the Brazil-spec model. On the outside, this sub-compact SUV will get a set of traditional yet sleek and modern-looking LED headlights with LED DRLs. There will also be a bold front bumper with unique U-shaped design elements and large air dams.
