Upcoming Volkswagen Tiguan R-Line To Get Level 2 ADAS, 229 Kmph Top Speed: Officially Confirmed

Volkswagen is all set to launch its most expensive flagship model, the Tiguan R-Line, in the Indian market. The launch is expected to take place on April 14th. Volkswagen has officially listed the Tiguan R-Line on its website, and pre-bookings for this flagship SUV have also started. Volkswagen recently confirmed that the upcoming SUV will come with Level 2 ADAS, along with other safety features.

The SUV will be offered with several premium features, including safety features like Level 2 ADAS. Volkswagen has revealed that the upcoming SUV will come with 21 Level 2 ADAS features, including Lane Change Assist with Rear Traffic Alert, an Automatic Emergency Braking System, Park Assist, Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Keep Assist, and more. In addition to ADAS, Volkswagen will also offer features like nine airbags, TPMS, Hill Start Assist, Hill Descent Control, disc brakes on all four wheels, and many more.

We already know what the exterior and interior of the upcoming Tiguan R-Line will look like. It will have a bold and powerful design with LED DRLs, headlights, and a glass-covered horizontal strip. The horizontal strip features R-Line branding. There is a connecting LED bar that runs across the width of the SUV.

The SUV gets sleeker-looking LED headlamps with a large air dam on the lower part of the bumper. It is equipped with 19-inch wheels with a unique design.

At the rear, we see smoked clear glass LED tail lamps with a connecting LED bar across the width of the vehicle. The Tiguan branding is placed on the lower part of the tailgate, along with a muscular-looking bumper featuring black and chrome inserts.

When it comes to the interior, Volkswagen will offer a premium-looking dashboard inspired by a new concept. The design stands out with its high-quality materials and craftsmanship. It also comes with a digital instrument cluster, R-Line branding on the seats, dashboard, and steering wheel, a panoramic sunroof, ambient lighting, three-zone climate control, and more.

The Volkswagen Tiguan R-Line is based on the MQB Evo platform. It features the new-generation Dynamic Chassis Control Pro. Additionally, the carline is equipped with a Vehicle Dynamics Manager, which controls the functions of electronic differential locks (XDS) and the lateral dynamics components of controlled shock absorbers in the DCC Pro system. The Vehicle Dynamics Manager implements wheel-specific braking interventions and wheel-selective adjustments of the shock absorber damping, offering a more neutral, stable, agile, and precise driving experience with enhanced cabin comfort.

The Volkswagen Tiguan R-Line is powered by a 2.0-liter turbocharged petrol engine. This four-cylinder engine generates 204 PS and 320 Nm of peak torque.

It is mated to a seven-speed DSG transmission, and power is sent to all four wheels using Volkswagen’s 4MOTION AWD system. The Tiguan R-Line has a top speed of 229 kmph and can accelerate from 0-100 kmph in just 7.1 seconds. The SUV will be launched in the coming weeks and is likely to be priced at around ₹50 lakh (ex-showroom).
