Volkswagen Polo was one of those cars that changed the premium hatchback game in India. Although discontinued, it still has a large fan base in the country. One of the popular shades for the Polo was Flash Red. It gave the car an extremely sporty look and added character. Volkswagen has now launched the same shade in their popular sedan and SUV - the Virtus and Taigun. Here, we have a quick walkaround video of a Virtus sedan in the Flash Red shade.

The video has been shared by HumanOnTwoWheels on his Youtube channel. In this video, the vlogger gives us a quick walkaround of the Virtus sedan in the stockyard of a dealership in Kerala. Kerala is a major market for Volkswagen India, and that reflects in the sales as well.

The new Flash Red shade seen in the video is actually available only for the GT Line variant of the sedan. The GT Line variant is different from the GT trim. The GT Line was introduced in the market for customers who wanted a sporty-looking car with the smaller 1.0-litre turbocharged engine.

In the video, we can clearly see that the manufacturer has offered the same shade as the erstwhile Polo hatchback. Coming to the details, the vlogger shows the changes in the car. He mentions that the GT Line offers very little chrome, which adds to the sporty character.

The car gets the Volkswagen logo on the blacked-out grille, the bumper gets gloss-black treatment, and the fog lamps are integrated into the bumper as before. The Virtus sedan also gets the same alloy wheel design, but they are now blacked out. The ORVMs and the roof are also blacked out to match the theme.

The tail lamps on this variant get a smoked treatment, and we also see a black bootlid spoiler. The interior of the Virtus sedan is finished in all black, and there are no changes in terms of features or space. It offers features like a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto/Apple CarPlay, a single-pane sunroof, cruise control, push-button start/stop, paddle shifters for automatic variants, and an 8-speaker sound system.

Apart from this, nothing has changed in the sedan. In fact, Volkswagen has also launched the Taigun GT Line in this same shade.

Both vehicles have started reaching dealerships across the country. The GT Line variants are offered in all shades except black. The black shade is available only with the bigger engine variants or GT trims.

The GT Line variant is powered by a 1.0-litre, 3-cylinder, turbocharged petrol engine that generates 115 PS and 178 Nm of peak torque.

The Flash Red shade does look good on the sedan, and it will definitely bring back memories from the Polo days. Prices for the Volkswagen Virtus GT Line start at ₹14.08 lakh (ex-showroom) and go up to ₹15.18 lakh (ex-showroom).
