All-new 2018 Maruti Swift in Cartoq’s Photo Review

Here is the all-new 2018 Maruti Swift, in our detailed photo review. Through 28 pictures, we’ll take you on a quick walkthrough of the brand new car.
The 2018 Swift gets a fresh new face similar to that of the Dzire but without the chrome for a sporty look.
The rear seems inspired by the BMW 1-Series, and this is something that gives the car a premium appearance.
Daytime LED running lights and LED projectors are standard on the top-end model.
From rear angles, the car still retains the traditional Swift family look.
The LED projector headlamps are a first-in-segment feature.
The Swift finally integrated DRLs into its headlamps.
The BMW 1-Series connection?
A fetching shot of the new car as the sun sets.
The wing mirrors of the new car get integrated turn indicators.
The dashboard is an all-new item, and unlike the Dzire’s beige interiors, the Swift’s cabin gets the sportier grey-black finish.
AMT is on offer as an option on both petrol and diesel models. And this is the first time ever that Maruti is selling automatic variants of the Swift in India.
The refrigerator-style door handle is a love-it/hate-it design bit. It sure may take time getting used to.
Keyless entry is now standard on the top-spec model.
The Swift is still best enjoyed with a manual gearbox, that slots smoothly with short throws.
The multi-information display is quite informative but the deletion of the temperature gauge is a glaring miss. There’s a warning light that comes on if the engine overheats though.
Round AC vents get chrome tipped to minimize the monotony of grey and black.
SRS airbags are standard across the variant line up.
Even the rear door gets a nifty bottle holder.
Climate control dials inspired by the Mini?
The dashboard is well planned.
And there are plenty of cubby holes.
Maruti’s SmartPlay touchscreen infotainment system is now standard on the top-end variant.
Switches are easy to access.
Rear legroom is slightly improved due to the reprofiled front seats and a 20 mm increase in wheelbase.
Engines
The K-Series motor is a smoothie but the lack of an engine cover is a glaring example of cost cutting.
The Swift remains mega fun to drive. Enthusiasts take note.
The Petrol 1.2 with the manual gearbox is the pick of the lot for enthusiastic driving.
