Hyundai Creta is a posh, mid-size urban-lifestyle oriented SUV which appeals to those looking for features and comfort in SUV garb. While the light steering may not be to everyone’s (read enthusiasts) liking, it makes Creta easy to drive in congested city environments. While petrol is a bit thirsty, diesel is reasonably frugal to run and comes with class-leading refinement. A used Creta is an ideal buy for someone who needs or wants a well-built reliable SUV but need more space than a compact SUV. Or somebody who just wants a Creta because, well, its a best-seller after all but does want to spend too much more than Rs. 10 lakh. Creta currently costs Rs. 10 lakh to Rs 14 lakh for petrol version on the new car market. Diesel versions run up to Rs. 15.67 lakh. So what are your options if you want a Creta that is not too heavily used, say with under 50,000 km on the odo? And how much would they cost? Which are the best deals available on the market?

Recommendation #1: Hyundai Creta 1.6 SX O CRDi

Year: 2015 / Kms Driven: 26,011 / List Price: Rs 925,000 / Ex Showroom Price: Rs 1,378,000

This entry, which comes at a discount of 33% to its original price is 4 years old and has done 26,011 Kms. The latter means its pretty much like new. This diesel-powered, CRETA is currently with its first owner. While not cheap, its one of the more feature-loaded model and that too in diesel avatar that would be lighter on the pocket when it comes to running cost.

Recommendation #2: Hyundai Creta 1.6 Gamma SX Plus

Year: 2015 / Kms Driven: 48,716 / List Price: Rs 850,000 / Ex Showroom Price: Rs 1,278,000

This entry, which comes at a discount of 33% to its original price is 4 years old and has done 48,716 Kms. Currently with its second owner, this white coloured CRETA comes with a petrol powerplant. This is the cheapest sample on the list and though it has clocked 48,000 km, it should still be good enough for another 50,000-plus km. And given the car is 4 years old, we think you have decent room to negotiate and sweeten the deal.

Recommendation #3: Hyundai Creta 1.6 SX Opt Diesel 2017

Year: 2017 / Kms Driven: 21,000 / List Price: Rs 1,125,000 / Ex Showroom Price: Rs 1,482,000

This entry, which comes at a discount of 24% to its original price is 2 years old and has done 21,000 Kms. This diesel-powered, polar white CRETA is currently with its first owner. This is the most expensive one on the list but if you are looking for long-term, this barely two-year old SUV with very few kilometers on the odo is a great deal. That its a diesel and feature-loaded variant are icing on the cake. Think of it this way: a nearly new Creta at 30%-plus discount to new car price [on-road].

Recommendation #4: Hyundai Creta 1.4 Crdi S Plus

Year: 2017 / Kms Driven: 24,000 / List Price: Rs 950,000 / Ex Showroom Price: Rs 1,246,000

This entry, which comes at a discount of 24% to its original price is 2 years old and has done 24,000 Kms. This diesel-powered, white CRETA is currently with its first owner. Another less used diesel Creta which is just two years old at a reasonable discount to new car price. If you can’t get any of the above deals, then go for this.

Recommendation #5: Hyundai Creta 1.6 Sx+ Petrol 2015

Year: 2015 / Kms Driven: 42,000 / List Price: Rs 906,500 / Ex Showroom Price: Rs 1,278,000

This entry, which comes at a discount of 29% to its original price is 4 years old and has done 42,000 Kms. Currently with its first owner, this white coloured CRETA comes with a petrol powerplant. The only downside to this sample is that it runs on petrol and isn’t really very fuel-efficient. The price is lower too so if you usage isn’t too high–say, under 1,000 km a month–then drive a hard bargain and you have a good deal.
