Though Chevrolet is no longer present in India as an auto manufacturer, it sold a lot of great cars in the country during its stint. The Cruze is an excellent example of the American carmaker’s lineage in India. However, Chevrolet had its fair share of bad cars and failures too which ultimately led to its exit. Not all of its cars that failed in the market were bad though. The Optra SR-V comes across as the prime example of this.

It is quite likely that a lot of you folks might not have heard of this car. This is because of the reason that the SR-V was sold only for around 3 years and not many units of the car were bought, which deems it as a rare car. The one featured here is going for quite cheap and is a well-maintained example. It can be bought for just Rs. 2.75 lakhs, which is quite a fair deal for it. This black Chevrolet Optra SR-V is available for sale in Irinjalakuda, Thrissur District, Kerala. The odometer reading of this 2007 model car is around 46,000 km according to the advertisement posted by its owner. It is the option pack variant that was powered by the same 1.6-litre petrol engine which was found under the hood of the Optra sedan. Speaking of which, this engine churned out 101 Bhp of power long with 140 Nm of torque. At the time it was launched in 2006, the Optra SR-V was a true hot-hatchback in all aspects. It was essentially a hatchback version of the popular Optra sedan.

This is the reason why spare parts and servicing never became a problem for the SR-V even after it was discontinued in 2009. The car had plenty of interior space and good handling along with a reasonably spacious boot for a hatchback. It also had a sporty body design with a spoiler mounted on its boot. The only chink in its armour was its premium pricing and the fact that the Indian market was not ready for such a large, premium hatchback. It had a sticker price of around Rs. 7 lakh at that time which was quite a lot back then.
