Why Buy: The best-selling premium hatchback tops our list too. This gorgeous red 2016 Baleno has done 41,000 km and so should be good for another 4-5 years. Its spacious, fun-to-drive and fuel efficient making it an attractive buy at discount of nearly 40 percent to a new purchase.
Recommendation #2: Ford Figo Duratec Titanium 1.2
Year: 2014 Mileage: 22,000 Asking Price: Rs. 284,200 OP: Rs. 546,000
Why Buy: Ford Figo of the 2014 vintage was a well-built car that was fun-to-drive as well. However, the petrol version drinks more fuel than others in its class. So why is this on our list? Well the negatives have been factored in the asking price—it has done only 22,000 km and yet the asking price is just Rs 2.84 lakh. That leaves you with more than enough cash from your budget of Rs 5 lakh to keep feeding it for quite some time. It’s also a perfect buy as second car that won’t be doing too many miles.
Recommendation #3: Ford Figo 1.4 TDCi Titanium

Why Buy: If the guzzler above does not fit with your sensibilities, then you have its thrifty diesel cousin at third spot on the list. It has just 25,000 km on the odo which should ensure trouble-free ownership for another 5 years. At Rs 4.25 lakh, its at a discount of 45 percent to the new car price and would leave you with some cash to spare.
Recommendation #4: Hyundai Grand i10 Sportz Celebration Edition
Year: 2016 Mileage: 3,000 Asking Price: Rs. 470,000 OP: Rs. 706,000
Why Buy: We are not sure about the 3,000 km-over-3 years claim…but if it’s true, then you have a very good car at a very good price. Catch hold of a good mechanic when you go inspecting.

Year: 2012 Mileage: 23,652 Asking Price: Rs. 277,095 OP: Rs. 768,000
Why Buy: The two-year older version of number 3 entry is available for Rs 1.5 lakh less. The good bit is that though it is older, it still has clocked only 23,000 km—so mechanically everything should be fine.
