Used Full Size SUVs in Delhi NCR From Cartoq TRUE PRICE
The new generation of full size SUVs have gotten quite expensive: they come in the Rs 30 lakh to Rs. 40 lakh range and we aren’t taking the ones from the German luxury brands. So if that’s what you are looking for and don’t want to shell out a ton of money, a used one is a good option. More so because they are usually very-well built.
But selecting one could be tricky given they come in a very wide price range: from under Rs. 10 lakh to nearly Rs. 20 lakh.
So,, we put this question to Cartoq TRUE PRICE. Why Buy: Sparingly used automatic is to be had for just a shade over Rs. 10 lakh. Just consider: the puny Hyundai Venue top end auto costs just about the same.
Recommendation #2: Honda CR-V 2.4MT
Year: 2015 / Mileage: 47,357 km / Used Car List Price: Rs. 13,50,000 / Ex showroom Price: Rs. 25,20,000
Why Buy: Still a good deal at around half the original price with less than 50,000 km on it. CR-V is really well-built car so you should have years of trouble-free ownership. Go for it if you can’t get the No 1 on the list.
Recommendation #3: Honda CR-V 2.4 4WD AT
Year: 2016 / Mileage: 44,000 km / Used Car List Price: Rs. 15,25,000 / Ex showroom Price: Rs. 25,20,000
Why Buy: A bit expensive at Rs. 15 lakh but here is a question; what is the cheapest 4-wheel drive auto on new SUV market and how much does it cost? Well, it’s an XUV500 and its costs nearly Rs. 20 lakh. While its a decent SUV, CR-V is in a different league.
Recommendation #4: Honda CR-V 2.4 4WD AT
Year: 2014 / Mileage: 70,000 km / Used Car List Price: Rs. 12,50,000 / Ex showroom Price: Rs. 25,20,000
Why Buy: If you don’t mind a few, actually 20,000 km more on the odometer compared with the No. 3 entry, you can save a good Rs. 3 lakh and get yourself this sample.
Recommendation #5: Honda CR-V 2.4 AT
Year: 2014 / Mileage: 62,000 km / Used Car List Price: Rs. 12,50,000 / Ex showroom Price: Rs. 25,20,000
Why Buy: This is just as good a buy as the two entries above it—if you don’t particularly need a 4-wheel drive SUV.
In Summary
We know the question that is bursting out of your head: how come no Toyota Fortuner made the list? Well, once Toyota priced the current generation Fortuner in the Rs. 30 lakh range, the price of used ones shot through the roof. So if you have a budget of Rs 10—Rs. 15 lakh, you only have very old Fortuners to choose from. Given you aren’t allowed to run diesel cars older than 10 years in Delhi, those don’t make any sense.
