The Hindustan Motors Ambassador is a car that is associated with the beginning of the automotive era in India. It was based on the Morris Oxford Series III, a car that was sold in the UK around half a century back. The Ambassador itself had a very long production run with sales starting from 1958 till the time the manufacturer shut shop in 2014.
