Used Maruti Kizashi selling cheaper than an Alto

Remember the Maruti Suzuki Kizashi? It was the most premium car that India’s largest car manufacturer used to offer in India some time ago. It was the flagship model from the brand and one of the most feature loaded vehicle at that time. Kizashi never became as successful as other Maruti’s in our market because of the higher price tag. The main reason behind the higher price tag was that Kizashi was fully imported as a completely built unit. Spotting a Kizashi on our roads is a very hard thing these days as people have started forgetting that Maruti Suzuki even sold such a vehicle in our market. There were some people who had bought this flagship sedan and one of them is currently available on sale.
The advertisement has been published by a seller from Mumbai, Maharashtra and the vehicle is also registered in Maharashtra only. The grey coloured sedan looks in pretty good condition from the outside. No visible dents or scratches can be seen in the images. This proves that the owner had taken care of the car in a good way. The car seen in the images is a 2012 model Maruti Suzuki Kizashi that has approximately covered over 55,000 kms as per the advertisement. The interior of the car also looks pretty new and well taken care of.
The Kizashi is powered by a 2.4 litre petrol engine that produces 175 bhp and 230 Nm of peak torque. It was one of the most powerful premium sedan of its time. The car here is an automatic car and gets a CVT transmission. The car is currently with its third owner and the asking price for this premium sedan is around Rs 2.99 lakh which is way for cheaper than that of a brand new Maruti Suzuki Alto. Top-end trim of a brand new Alto 800 will cost around Rs 3.66 lakh ex-showroom.
Advertisement does not mention the exact reason behind this sale. This was a product launched Maruti Suzuki that was way ahead of its time. Kizashi has now been discontinued for our market and interested buyers must keep this thing in mind that Kizashi was a premium or a luxury product and maintenance of such products are costly. Globally, the Suzuki Kizashi never really got going and the Japanese automaker had to discontinue this sedan a few years ago.
