MG launched the all-new Hector in the Indian market earlier this year. After receiving an overwhelming response from the market, MG Motors stopped taking bookings for the Hector in the Indian market. MG Motors has already started delivering the cars in the market and there are quite a few of them on the roads. However, many customers are facing a waiting time of around 7 months to get the vehicle. Also, new customers who have not booked the car yet will not get the deliveries in 2019. Well, there’s a solution to this. Customers of MG Hector have started listing the vehicle for sale online and we found the first example of the vehicle in the used car market.

The car listed on OLXalso has pictures of the vehicles in it. It is a white coloured Hector and is yet to get a registration number. We are not sure if the vehicle has already received a registration number. In case, the current owner has not applied for the registration, the buyer can become the first owner of the vehicle too. The pictures also show that the vehicle is brand new and there are no scratches or dents on it.

As per the post, the MG Hector for sale is driven for only 100 km. The post also mentions that the car is diesel top-end variant, which gets all the bells and whistles that the car has to offer. The fully-loaded MG Hector diesel top-end, which is called as Sharp by the manufacturer. The ex-showroom price of the MG Hector Sharp diesel in Kerala is 16.88 lakhs and with taxes, it comes to be around Rs 20.35 lakhs. However, the asking price by the seller in the advert is Rs 23 lakhs, which is much higher than the one would pay for the new car.

Why is the price so high? This is for the customers who want to buy the vehicle this year and have not booked the vehicle yet. MG Motors has temporarily closed down the booking window and the new bookings will start for the models that will be delivered in 2020. Also, the car is readily available for customers who do not want to wait for a long time. MG Motors will also increase the price of the Hector when the bookings open again as the current prices of the car are introductory.

The diesel engine powering the MG Hector is a 2.0-litre Multijet unit that is also available with the Tata Harrier and the Jeep Compass in the Indian market. It produces a maximum power of 173 PS and peak torque of 350 Nm. The diesel variants of the MG Hector only get a 6-speed manual transmission. The variant comes with all the features available with the car including a panoramic sunroof, leatherette seats, connected infotainment system and more.

It seems like the owner bought the vehicle for selling it soon as it would allow him to make a good profit from the high-in-demand vehicle. In the future, we may see more of these advertisements in the used car market.
