Well kept used Volkswagen Passat selling for less than a Maruti WagonR: 170 Bhp Diesel Automatic

The Volkswagen Passat is a well-established name in the automotive market and has been sale in our country for a long time now. The luxurious sedan rivals the likes of the Honda Accord, Skoda Superb, and the Toyota Camry among others in its segment. The current model of this German sedan has prices ranging from Rs. 31 lakhs up to Rs. 40 lakhs (on-road, Delhi), which is quite a big sum. However, you can own this stately sedan for a fraction of that price if you don’t mind going through the used car route. The silver Volkswagen Passat featured here is actually available for much less than even the top-end Maruti Suzuki Wagon R hatchback.

You read that right because this one can be had yours for just Rs. 4.95 lakhs. It is available for sale in Gurugram and is the 2011 model. This was the same year in which Volkswagen launched this upgraded model of the Passat after phasing out the older gen model. Now the on-road price of the top-end variant of Maruti Suzuki Wagon R in Gurugram is Rs. 6.36 lakhs, which is much more than what the Volkswagen Passat here is available for. However, do note that the servicing, maintenance, running and spare parts cost of the Volkswagen Passat is much higher than that of the Wagon R.

Going by the images, this silver Passat seems to be in a decent condition. However, there are a few small dents and scratches on its exteriors, one of which can be seen above the rear wheel arch in the image above. The car looks completely stock and rides on factory fitted 5-spoke alloy wheels. The Volkswagen Passat is known for its relatively understated design and this one is no different. In fact, it is the perfect car for those who don’t want a flashy ride but don’t want to miss on any creature comforts and luxury as well.

The seller of this Volkswagen Passat has not mentioned any information regarding its odometer reading or how many owners has it seen. Therefore, make sure to ask for these details if you are interested in this car. Coming to the mechanical details, this Volkswagen Passat is powered by a 2.0-liter BlueMotion diesel (CR TDI) motor that produces 170 Bhp of maximum power and 350 Nm of maximum torque. This was the only engine available with this generation of the Passat and came mated to a 6-speed DSG (Direct Shift Gear) dual-clutch gearbox.

The interiors also seem to be in decent shape and are draped in all black. The dashboard design is classy with the typical chunky Volkswagen 3-spoke steering wheel. It comes with plenty of cool and convenient features such as a sunroof and Park Assist, and Easy Open Boot that automatically opens the boot door when you place your leg under the rear bumper.
